LeaveOne of the major problems an organisation faces internally is the flow of information from the workforce to administration. Everything from timesheets through to annual requests or more simple enquiries about the balance of a superannuation fund. Invariably this information is captured through form filling or people calling the Human Resources Department to make enquiries, both of which increase workload. In the first instance, HR takes calls that could otherwise be managed by the employee using a process that provides full tracking and data capture. To meet these needs, we have developed LEAVE,a sophisticated Voice XML solution to serve employees. Leave enables an organisations employees to complete or change their Leave records by simply speaking into the phone. Importantly, LEAVE allows the individual to control the process, which in effect has not changed but has just been automated. It also allows the organisation to focus its call centre resources on higher information capturing tasks. Leave works the following way. An employee is greeted by LEAVE, which then provides them with a range of options in areas such as change of address, enquiries about leave balance, or requests for annual leave. The employee simply speaks into the phone to make their request and LEAVE will then ask for their name or employee number and a password. Should the customer choose to lodge a leave application over the phone, the employee provides details such as commencement and termination dates and then asks LEAVE to lodge it. LEAVE is able to backend into existing databases, lodge the leave request into the HR system and provide the employee with confirmation that it has been lodged. The employee's manager also receives the confirmation and they can then call LEAVE to confirm that it has been accepted. LEAVE can be customized to suit any organisation.
